1 - Packing List
Here is a list of the files present in the archive. Should one of
these files be missing, please destroy the archive as it has been tampered
with and could possibly not contain the original files.
NL2TXT-E EXE Executable file with English prompts
NL2TXT-F EXE Executable file with French prompts
FRANCAIS DOC NL2TXT documentation in French
ENGLISH DOC NL2TXT documentation in English
NL2TXT-E CFG Sample configuration file with comments in English
NL2TXT-F CFG Sample configuration file with comments in French
FILE_ID DIZ Standard distribution archive description file
QUOI_DE9 101 Update list for version 1.01, in French
WHATSNEW 101 Update list for version 1.01, in English
READ_ME 1ST The file you are reading right now
LIS_MOI 1ER The French equivalent of the file you are now reading
2 - Suggestions
As you can see, there are two programs in the archive, one in
French, the other in English. To use the program in English, you can use
the ENGLISH.BAT file indluded in the archive, which will delete the French
language files and rename the English language files to names related to
the software. If you would rather do it manually, here's how:
You must first copy the executable file NL2TXT-E.EXE to a new file
simply called NL2TXT.EXE from the DOS command line like so:
COPY NL2TXT-E.EXE NL2TXT.EXE
...and then do the same with the configuration file:
COPY NL2TXT-E.CFG NL2TXT.CFG
It is strongly suggested that you keep the archive, either on
another diskette or another backup file support, so you can retreive the
program quickly should the support where you chose to install NL2TXT
become faulty.
Once this has been done, you can delete the files with dashes
("-") in them, as well as the documentation file in the language other
than the one you will be using NL2TXT in, in order to conserve disk
space. The files LIS_MOI.1ER, READ_ME.1ST, and FILE_ID.DIZ will also be
useless and therefore can also be deleted.
Finally, you can rename the English documentation file to
NL2TXT.DOC with the following command:
REN ENGLISH.DOC NL2TXT.DOC
It is strongly recommended that you read, at least summarily, the
documentation file before using NL2TXT, so you can be at least a bit
familiar with the options that are available on this software.
